Following is a glimpse of our company, giving a sense of our character and burning desire to be the best at what we do. There has not been a time in our history that we have not had a R&D project in play. Always looking ahead, always trying to improve, not compromising our position that legacy ends with our taking possession of equipment. We are not, nor do we use brokers in the completion of our lifecycle management of equipment, assets or material. What most would consider a noteworthy accomplishment, we consider doing the job our clients demand. Below is just a glimpse of our history.

1988~ Pioneer of electronics processing. Began in a garage on a farm near Catawba, WI. A vision for "100% E-Green (TM) Commitment".

1990~ Incorporated as 5R Processors,  Ltd. Moved operations to a former cheese factory in Catawba, WI.

1996~ Awarded "Beneficial Reuse Certificate" from Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

1997~ Opened a 35,000 sq. ft. facility in Atlanta, GA.

1998~ Established The Oak Ridge National Recycle Center in conjunction with the Department of Energy's - Oak Ridge Operations Office of Asset Utilization and the Community Re-use Organization of East Tennessee, to refurbish or recycle obsolete electronic equipment with hazardous components from the Cold War era. We are currently used by the Homeland Defense Equipment Re-use Program. State of Wisconsin Governor's "Waste Reduction and Recyling Award", Honorable Mention.

1999~ Developed the first domestic hydrometallurgical process for recovering palladium from electronic components.

2000~ Opened a 65,000 sq. ft. facility in Clinton, TN.

2001~ White House "Closing the Circle" Award, from the office of President Bush; Department of Energy's "National Pollution Prevention" award, at a ceremony in New Mexico; Tennessee Recycling Coalition's "Innovator of the Year" Award.

2002~ Established partnership with Goodwill Industries in  Knoxville, TN, to provide computer equipment to families and students with special needs. Created the first accredited jobs program for persons with disabilities in Knoxville as basic computer technicians. The program was dubbed the CRT Program (Computer Repair Technician).              Developed a recovery/reuse program for retired/surplus radiation detection devices from Department of Energy sites that later was known as the Homeland Defense Equipment Reuse Program. The first significant response was to send equipment to Georgia, Russia.           Began successful collaboration with the Department of the Army DEER2 program and Argonne National Laboratory on the segregation of co-mingled plastics recovered from electronic recycling via a process of froth flotation. The Tennessee Department of Environment and conservation awarded 5R the "Innovator of the Year" Award.            5R was exclusively recognized by the Department of Justice and the Department of Energy with a Certificate of Appreciation for our involvement in developing the Homeland Defense Equipment Reuse Program.

2003~ Implemented glass-to-glass processing for electronic monitors, televisions, terminals and all cathode ray tube devices. One of the first companies to sign the Basel Action Network's (BAN) Electronics Recycler's Pledge of True Stewardship, after we had investigated the program. This year we also were recognized with a "National Pollution Prevention Award" from the Department of Energy.

2004~ Opended a 14,000 sq. ft. facillity in Memphis, TN.

2005~ Implemented a bar code tracking system. This proprietary tracking system called ITEMS (Inventory Tracking & Equipment Management System) was evaluated by a regulatory auditor as perhaps "The most robust tracking and RCRA compliant tool he has seen."

2006~ Opened a 80,000 sq. ft. facility in Ladysmith, WI.
